Awesome reel

I have a saros and wanted another reel on the side so i was torn between the sienna and the solstace after playing with both reels the solstace felt smoother, and could handle braided line better, so I decided to go with it. This reel is just as good as any high priced reel it is smooth, quiet, and handles the saltwater good. You don't need to spend a ton of money to have a quality reel and this reel is proof.

Great Reel

I bought the 2500 model as a replacement for my cheap walmart reel, which broke after about a week of use, and I am very pleased with my purchase. This is the first reel I have bought that wasn't part of a $20-$30 rod/reel combo and it was worth the money, It cast's farther, it has a very solid construction, large handle for easy cranking, and the gear ratio makes for a quick retrieval. It's a little heavier than the reels I'm used to but all in all a great reel.

I replaced a Sedona with this only because they didn't have a new Sedona in stock and I had a trip the next day.
Great choice!
I'm very, very happy with this reel!

Should have purchased something else

Purchased a 4000 and a 1000 maybe got 30 - 40 hours fishing out of each pitching spinners for 6-8 pound coho salmon now shot and bail springs are wornout. These are way Overrated have an abu cardinal 300i used right along side these. Cardinal is superior. Checked cost for getting parts from Shimano not worth cost. If you buy Plan on throwing them in the trash after after a bit if you do buy save your receipt and use your club visa. Don't I make that mistake I did good luck.

Great reel. Great price

This reel is half the price of the shimano sahara and it is just as good. It has 3 ball bearings just like the sahara and the same gear ratio. The only real difference is that the sahara has an aluminum frame and the solstace is a graphite frame. Aluminum frames are stronger, but graphite is lighter and still pretty strong. No need to spend the extra 40 dollars on a sahara. You can use that extra money for line and lures.
